In October of 1992, Adventures in Life Ministry was founded in a small apartment in Pasadena, California by two men, Dave Miller and Grady Martine. Believing that God changed lives when people stepped out in faith and served others, those two had been dreaming and praying about starting a new type of short term ministry organization for weeks.

Once the decision had been made to move forward, the next step was to decide where to serve. Both men, through experiences with Young Life and as Youth Pastors had led short term teams to Baja California, Mexico and had contacts there. Baja, and by extension, Mexico, became the focus of Adventures in Life Ministry.

Since that time, AIL has facilitated thousands of people serving, has built over 17 churches throughout the country and today is a well respected member of the community in Oaxaca due to our extensive work in health care, student camps, disaster relief and church and community development.
